Rust Experiment
I recently had 2 small gates made for my pad by a talented friend. I specifically wanted steel gates that would rust, and he made them out of cold rolled steel.
I found myself staring at the gate whenever passing by, looking for signs of impending rust. after a few days of lackluster oxidation, i decided to speed up the process. I was instructed by a another friend to find a household acid and spray the gate with it. I had a jug of Muriatic Pool Acid handy. Bang! done. It worked like a charm and the gate rusted overnight.
That got me thinking about the possibility of making some art.
Here's a step by step of my process. I still have to cut up the individual signs, but i love the result of this method.
